FGO has officially revealed the Trung Sisters, previously known as the 5-Star Nakayoshi Saber, with their ascension artwork by the character designer of Pokemon Legends Arceus, and details on their Skills and voice actors.

The Japanese version of FGO launched on April 6 the new Sea Monster Crisis Event and the new 5 Star Nakayoshi Saber, and their True Name was officially revealed, they’re the Trung Sisters from Vietnam’s history.

FGO is adding a new two-in-one Servant, the 5 * Nakayoshi Saber, based on the Trung Sisters from Vietnam. Several Vietnamese fans shared theories going in that direction after the initial reveal a few days ago, seeing the Nakayoshi Saber’s elephant motif, and they were right. The Trung Sisters, Trưng Trắc and Trưng Nhị, were Vietnamese leaders who excelled in military and literary arts and who stood up against Chinese occupation in AD 40, with Trưng Trắc later becoming the sole queen in the history of Vietnam.

Who is Take, Illustrator in FGO? Trung Sisters Artwork Revealed

Next, all of their ascension artwork were revealed. The Trung Sisters were designed by Take, who just worked on the 2D character illustrations for Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

In the past, Take worked several times with Medaka Box and Bakemonogatari‘s NisioIsin, illustrating the novels Zaregoto and Katanagatari. Take has a very distinct artstyle you can easily recognize. Check it out below.

• S1: Charisma of Rebellion
  – Party atk up and arts up (10-15% each) for 3 turns on a 7-5 CD
• S2: Bond Between Sisters
  – Self arts and buster up (10-15% each) for 3 turns
  – On-Arts-Attack buff for 3 turns (grants Buster up by 10% for 1 turn for each Arts card attack)
  – On-Buster-Attack buff for 3 turns (grants Arts up by 10% for 1 turn for each Buster card attack)
  – 6-4 CD
• S3: Signs of a Virtuous Ruler
  – 20-30% NP charge for self
  – Party NP gain up (10-20%) for 3 turns
  – Party critical attack resistance (10-20%) for 3 turns
  – 8-6 CD
• NP:
  – Arts ST (900-1500%)
  – Party arts up and buster up for 3 turns after damage (10-30% by OC)
  – Party HP regen per turn for 3 turns by 1000 flat
• CE: Increases party’s Arts and Buster card effectiveness by 10%

Voice actors

Type-Moon brought out the big guns when it comes to the voice actors, the seiyuu, bringing together a veteran and a younger talent. The Trung Sisters are voiced by Kanae Ito and Reina Kondo.

Kanae Itou is Suzuno in The Devil is a Part-Timer, Campanella in the Trails Series, Ohana in Hanasaku Iroha, Yui in Sword Art Online, Akai Meganee in the Pretty Series, Elsie in The World God Only Knows, and Ruiko in the Raildex series among a ton of other roles. Meanwhile Reina Kondo is a much newer seiyuu and is most notably popular for Ronie in SAO and IJN Kashino in Azur Lane.

Tsukihime References in The Sea Monster Crisis Event

FGO fans have also noted the Kon have the same sparkly eyes as Nasu’s iconic mushroom avatar, and are seen carrying mini versions of Ciel’s Seventh Holy Scripture from Tsukihime and Melty Blood.
